This privacy policy explains how I, Frank Mansfield, trading as a freelance animator and motion designer based in Sheffield, UK, collect and use your personal data when you visit this website or get in touch with me. For the purposes of UK data protection law, I am the "data controller" of this information.

HOW I USE IT, AND MY LAWFUL BASIS

I use the information you submit through the contact form to respond to your enquiry and, where relevant, to discuss potential work — this is necessary for taking steps toward a contract, or is in my legitimate interest as a freelancer responding to business enquiries. If you've agreed to receive marketing emails from me, I rely on your consent, and you can withdraw that consent at any time. I use the automatically collected technical data, in aggregate, to understand how visitors use the site and to keep it running properly — this is also a legitimate interest, and none of it is used to identify you personally.

You should not submit any sensitive or private information through this website except through acknowledged secure areas. I accept no responsibility for data submitted through insecure areas of this website.

MARKETING

By submitting your contact details to me, I may contact you about your enquiry or, if you've opted in, send you marketing materials. You can opt out of marketing emails from me at any time by getting in touch or using the unsubscribe link in any such email.

SERVER LOGS

As is true with most websites, my server will automatically log data regarding each visit, such as your IP address, browser type, referring/exit pages, and operating system. It is not possible for this to be disabled on a per-user basis, so you must leave this website (and the internet entirely) if you do not agree to this happening.

HOW LONG I KEEP YOUR DATA

I keep enquiry and contact form data for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to you and, where a project goes ahead, for the duration of that working relationship plus a reasonable period afterwards for accounting and legal purposes. Aggregated analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics' standard retention settings.

YOUR RIGHTS

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to ask me for access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data; to restrict or object to how I use it; to ask for it in a portable format; and, where I rely on your consent, to withdraw that consent at any time. To exercise any of these, please email me. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you think I've mishandled your data.
